The Oregon Morgan Classic Show Results 7/20/2012

morganmetels2I am always looking to test Carbon with top quality judges. Schooling shows are a great place to get practice, but there is nothing like having a well respected USDF "R" judge giving you a little advice when it comes to testing your training skills. As many of you may know, the OMHO is a Morgan breed horse show with western dressage classes down in Salem Oregon. A few months before the show, I contacted Cindy Duckworth to see if the Classic would open the WD classes to all breeds. I was very happy to hear that they allowed all breeds to be tested. I want to give a big thank you to Catherine Cloud, Cindy Duckworth and OMHO for making this happen and putting on a great Western Dressage show.

Carbon and I were in our classic form riding one handed in a curbed bridle to show rideability and controllability with light contact. As you can see in the pictures Carbon and I did very well against the fancy Morgan horses. We took two 1st places and one 2nd place. I thought the scores were a little stinggy, but it is what it is.. We had a great time and valued the advice of judge.
